Karla Baker Thompson
Karla Thompson has extensive experience representing disability claimants, and is very familiar with the intricacies and nuances of disability insurance law. While Ms. Thompson no longer practices law on a full-time basis, she continues to provide invaluable insight and counsel to Comitz | Beethe and our clients.
Education and Bar Admissions
Ms. Thompson received her B.S. in Business Administration, magna cum laude, from Birmingham-Southern College, where she attended as a National Merit Scholar, and earned her J.D. from the College of William and Mary. While attending William and Mary Law School, Ms. Thompson was a Graduate Research Fellow, a member of the William and Mary Law Review, and a member of the Moot Court Team where she was distinguished as Bushrod Tournament Finalist in 2009. She was also the Special Projects Administrator for the Attorneys Information Exchange Group and a regulatory compliance coordinator for the College of William and Mary Foundation. Ms. Thompson is admitted to practice in the State of Arizona, as well as the United States District Court for the District of Arizona.
Ms. Thompson was among the 2.5 percent of lawyers in Arizona selected to the 2014 Southwest Super Lawyers Rising Stars list. Ms. Thompson is the co-author of numerous articles about the legal challenges facing doctors, dentists, and other healthcare professionals. Her work has been published in various local and regional healthcare publications.
