What To Expect

We know that filing a disability claim can be a difficult and life-changing decision, particularly when you don’t have a full understanding of what the disability claims process entails. We also know that the disability claims process can be daunting to face alone, and that being denied benefits that you were counting on, or losing benefits you have become accustomed to, can be devastating.

Over the more than 20 years we have been assisting professionals with their disability claims, we have learned that the key to success is developing personalized strategies that address the unique challenges of each claim. This cannot be accomplished without taking the time to gain a detailed understanding of the factors at play in each case.

Accordingly, when you contact our office, the first thing we will do is set up an interview, either in person or via telephone, to learn more about you and your disability claim. This interview usually lasts between one to two hours. At the end of the interview, we will provide you with a list of any additional documents we might need to look at in order to fully understand your claim. Typically, we will want to review your policies, any correspondence with your insurance company, any claim forms you have submitted to the insurance company, and your relevant medical records.

Once we receive and review this additional information, we will set up a second consultation to discuss your claim in more detail. At this second consultation, we will identify the primary obstacles in your claim, discuss some of the strategies for addressing each obstacle, and answer any questions you may have. At this point, we will also let you know whether we will be able to represent you. If, following this consultation, we mutually agree to proceed with representation, we will then begin working on developing a comprehensive strategy tailored towards achieving payment of your claim.

If you would like to set up a consultation, please call or e-mail our office.
